New Delhi: The Congress is keeping up the attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party over government formation in Delhi claiming that they are scared of the voters’ verdict.
“BJP was the largest largest party in the December elections. They could have formed the government then. If the BJP is not scared of the people why can’t they recommend to the Lieutenant Governor that there can be elections in Delhi along with other states,” Congress leader Manish Tewari said.
Rubbishing Congress’s claims, the BJP has defended itself saying that it is ready for fresh polls and is even confident of winning. The BJP also said that if they were invited by the L-G to form the government, the party will consider it seriously.
“We are ready to go for elections and are confident of winning. We do not have numbers but if we are given a proposal we will surely look at it and analyse it to take the final decision,” Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay
Delhi L-G Najeeb Jung has sent a report after he sought the President’s nod to begin talks with the single largest party – the BJP. Prime Minister Modi will take a final call on government formation.
