New Delhi, June 9 : Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday held pre-budget consultation meeting with finance ministers and chief ministers of different states.
Jaitley said the meeting was a formal consultation and all future decisions will be made based on the presentations and suggestions made by provincial finance ministers.
“This was a formal consultation with all the states. Chief Ministers of several states and in some cases the finance ministers have all come. And each one has made a presentation with regard to the point of view of the states that they have. These are diverse points of view,” said Jaitley.
“Their speeches have already been made available to you. And therefore when we make our future decisions, whether with regard to budget or with the policies of the central government, we factor in these opinions of the states,” he added.
